Polemics at the Beginning of the "Quattrocento": The "Dialogues to Pier Paolo Vergerio" as a Manifesto of Humanism Polémicas en los inicios del "Quattrocento": los "Diálogos a Pier Paolo Vergerio" de Leonardo Bruni como manifiesto del humanismo Perino, Alejo Bruni Diálogos humanismo Petrarca Salutati Bruni "Dialogues" humanism Petrarch Salutati Leonardo Bruni writes the Dialogues to Pier Paolo Vergerio in the early 15th century. The text initiates a long tradition of dialogues written by humanists during that century and the next. The reason for his success lies in the incorporation of some controversial topics that Bruni uses to renew the program of humanism and distancehimself from the generation of Petrarch and Salutati. The purpose of this article is to analyze these topics to understand the degree of innovation of the Bruni, Niccoli and Bracciolini generation around the relationship between classicism and Christianity on the one hand and the figure of the wise on the other. Leonardo Bruni escribe los Diálogos a Pier Paolo Vergerio a principios del siglo xv. El texto inicia una larga tradición de diálogos escritos por humanistas durante ese siglo y el siguiente. El motivo de su fortuna se encuentra en la incorporación de algunos tópicos polémicos que Bruni utiliza para renovar el programa del humanismo y distanciarse de la generación de Petrarca y Salutati. El presente artículo tiene como objetivo analizar esos tópicos para comprender el grado de innovación de la generación de Bruni, Niccoli y Bracciolini entorno a la relación entre el clasicismo y el cristianismo por un lado y a la figura del sabio por el otro.
