"Níobe inmortal la admire el mundo": hybridism and "exemplum" in the epithalamium of the "Soledad primera" "Níobe inmortal la admire el mundo": hibridismo y "exemplum" en el epitalamio de la "Soledad Primera" Mateo Benito, Daniel Góngora "Soledad primera" epithalamium comentarists imitation Niobe exemplum epigram emblem Góngora "Soledad primera" epitalamio comentaristas "imitatio" Níobe "exemplum" epigrama emblema This article analyzes a passage of the Epithalamium inserted in Góngora’s Soledades (I, 815-817), taking into account the reception of classical literary motifs in Neo-Latin and vernacular literature. The mention of the mythical figure of Niobe in a fragment of the nuptial chorus assumes the oratory function of an exemplum a contrario, since although it exalts the fecundity of the Theban queen, at the same time it warns the bride against the risks of pride, impiety and boasting. To illuminate the exemplary meaning the female figure assumes several epigrams and emblems are closely examined in order to identify correctly the moral warning. Este artículo analiza un pasaje inserto en el epitalamio de las Soledades de Luis de Góngora (I, 815-817), atendiendo a la recepción de motivos literarios greco-latinos en la literatura neolatina y vernácula. La mención de la figura mítica de Níobe en un fragmento del coro nupcial asume la función oratoria de un exemplum a contrario, ya que si bien exalta la fecundidad de la reina de Tebas, al mismo tiempo previene a la novia contra los riesgos de la soberbia, la impiedad y la jactancia. Para iluminar el sentido ejemplar que asume aquel personaje femenino, se examinan de cerca varios epigramas y emblemas sobre el mismo motivo, atendiendo a la advertencia moral que portan.
