Traces of a lost Lazarillo (Valencia, Miguel Borrás, 1589)
Abstract
For some years, the existence of a Valencia edition of Lazarillo (1589) has been known, but until now no copy has been found. We are indebted for its identification to Maxime Chevalier, who found a bibliographical reference describing it in the catalogue of the library of Juan Fernández de Velasco (†1613). Later, only Alberto Martino - as far as I know - has referred to it. This essay aims at providing additional information on the library that held, for a while, this lost book.
