Some biographical clarifications about the Italian years of Francisco de Aldana (with new data)

Abstract

This article is an extension of the first part of the study that the author is carrying out on the life of Francisco de Aldana, centered on his Italian years (2017). The discovery of new sources of information in the Archivio di Stato di Firenze has made it possible to specify several points of the previous investigation and to outline its content. Thus, from the presentation and analysis of five letters by Antonio de Aldana addressed to Cosimo I de Médici, a biographical account is drawn up that functions as an epilogue to the chapter that began this reconstruction of the life of the Hispano-Florentine poet.
