«Empezó a recebir aquella vista de aquel sol que aserenaba el mundo...»: Boscán’s «Leandro» and Renaissance Philography
Abstract
This article analyses some mechanisms of translation and adaptation that determine Juan Boscán’s art of writing. The comparison of a fragment of is Leandro (vv. 204-312) with its alexandrine model (vv. 86-102 of Musaios’ epyllion), its two Latin translations and the Italian one shows that, among the elements of the amplificatio he achieves, also appear the insertion of hermeneutical schemes of the Neoplatonic philography.
