Studia Aurea. Journal of Early Modern Literature and Literary Theory (XV-XVII c.) was founded from the convergence of interests in various areas of philological research. In 2006, two research groups at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and the Universitat de Girona suggested creating a world-class academic journal which would encourage studies of both Spanish literature and early modern European letters and the survival of the classical tradition. After five years of existence, in 2012 Studia Aurea appeared in new platform, the Open Journal System, the most prestigious and transparent way of managing periodicals, which enables the author to monitor the status of their contributions at all times. It's peridicity is annual.
